Open Source Experience
The Open Source Associations Village is an essential space dedicated to open source communities during the Open Source Experience. Because associations play a vital role in the free and open digital ecosystem, this area highlights the volunteers who contribute every day to promoting and defending free software. It showcases their work in developing collaborative FOSS technologies and tools, as well as in nurturing and energizing communities of developers and users.

The Village of Associations is the ideal place for:

- Meeting the free software communities
- Exchange ideas with industry experts
- Drawing inspiration from sovereign digital initiatives
The animations
Each year, the associations offer numerous activities: raffles with many prizes to be won, the L’AssoVeraineté the highlight of the community village, a convivial moment blending open source culture, humor and networking.
For 2026, a new collaborative space is being created: “La Place des Asso”, designed to bring together and connect committed players and to spark new ideas among them.
Are you a professional association and would like to join the Association Village?
Starting in July, a call for applications was published on the Linuxfr.org website.
To be able to obtain a stand (limited number available), the association must meet the following conditions:
- Be a foundation or a non-profit association and not affiliated with a company
- Work in Open Source and Free Software
- Have a national or international focus
- Maintain a large network of contacts to promote the event in advance
- Commit to being present at the stand for one or two days
