Frequently Asked Questions

 

Do I have to register to retrieve/edit my badge?

If your intervention is accepted, you will be automatically registered for the event, without having to take any steps. You will receive your Speaker badge by email, which you can print or simply pick up at the reception of the Open Source Experience show on the day of your intervention

 

Where should I go when I arrive?

After collecting your badge at the reception, please go to the speakers’ desk at least 30 minutes before your intervention. There, you will be welcomed by our Programme team, wearing specific “Organisation badges”

 

When can I access the conference room?

We recommend that you arrive at the show at least 30 minutes before your speech. A special room is reserved for speakers. It is located on level -1 just after reception.

 

Will there be someone to introduce me to the hearing?

Yes, there will be a person in charge of animation in each room to introduce the speakers and make the link between the sessions.

 

Do I have free access to the Business Bar?

If your intervention is validated, you benefit from a speaker badge to access to Open Source Experience. This badge gives you access to the Business Bar where you will be offered drinks.

 

Do I have to submit my presentation material in advance?

No, you can bring it on D-Day with you, on a key only. You can also bring your own laptop with its charger. In this case, make sure you bring an adapter or an HDMI or VGA connection. It is preferable to use a USB key.

 

What audiovisual equipment will be available in the conference rooms?

A computer will be at your disposal to broadcast your presentation, which you will need to bring with you on a USB key. The room will be equipped with a projection screen, and a microphone.

 

Should I use my own laptop for my presentation?

A computer will be at your disposal on site but you can use your computer if necessary (for a demo or other). The connectors available on site are VGA and HDMI.

 

Can I include a video in my presentation?

Yes, you can include a video in your presentation.

 

How will the room be configured?

The room will be configured in theater format: the speaker in front of several rows of chairs for the public. Unlike in previous years, the public will not be wearing headphones, as the conference rooms are well separated from each other.

 

Will Open Source Experience record / film my session?

All conferences are recorded on video. They will then be freely available on the Open Source Experience Youtube page and used to promote the show in the year following the event. If you do not wish your talk to be published, please let us know at the following address: contact@opensource-expérience.com

 

Can I have a lapel microphone?

No, we do not propose lapel microphones.

 

Will I have internet access?

You will have internet access via wifi. However, we advise you to have all of your content pre-loaded in your presentation.

 

Will a satisfaction questionnaire be submitted to participants?

Yes, a questionnaire can be sent to assess the overall satisfaction of participants with the program. On the other hand, there will be no individual evaluation of the interventions.

 

Do you have any technical recommendations for my presentation support?

No, we suggest using the 16:9 aspect ratio.

 

Do you refund travel and catering costs?

No compensation is provided for those involved in the program. If you have any problem getting to the show venue, please contact us via programme@opensource-experience.com.

 

Will I be able to attend other sessions than mine?

Yes, you will have access to all the conferences and events at the show.

The DEVOPS REX conference, which takes place on the same dates on level -2, is only accessible on presentation of a paying badge.

 

Do you expect anything from me other than my intervention?

No, but in the opposite case, you will be directly solicited by the content team.

 

What should I do if I need technical support on the day of the conference?

A technical team will be on site to ensure the smooth running of the session, all you have to do is let them know!
