Boris DINTRANS EN

After beginning his career as a CNRS researcher in astrophysics, Boris Dintrans became involved in HPC by managing the CALMIP computing mesocentre and later the CINES. He is now the Director of the GIP RENATER, which interconnects more than 600 higher education and research institutions across mainland France and overseas through its network backbone.

RENATER also provides a range of cybersecurity and collaborative services via its integrated Partage suite, which includes email, the Evento survey tool, Filesender for file transfers, Rendez-Vous for video conferencing, and Sympa mailing lists. All these tools are open source, operated on-premise, and primarily developed in-house.

A strong advocate for digital sovereignty in France (AFNIC and TOSIT) and in Europe (the GÉANT consortium), he promotes regaining control over data and digital work tools—an objective at the core of RENATER’s strategic plan.
