APELL, ambassador partner of the Open Source Experience 2025

Open Source Experience (OSXP) 2025 is shaping up to be a must-attend event for the open source world. This year, the event welcomes a major partner: APELL (Association Professionnelle Européenne du Logiciel Libre). Founded in 2020, APELL’s mission is to promote open source software in Europe, and in particular to raise awareness of its strategic importance for the continent.
APELL: an association serving open source
APELL stands out for its commitment to a sovereign, inclusive and ethical digital marketplace. The association aims to multiply opportunities for its members. It also highlights the crucial role of open source software in European technological development. In an international context marked by increased competition and complex geopolitical issues, Europe must more than ever assert its desire for digital autonomy. For this reason, open source advocates have long advocated its importance for Europe, and today the sector is ready to rise to the challenge.
Open Source Experience 2025: a major event
Open Source Experience will be an opportunity to demonstrate how open source can meet the strategic challenges facing our continent. The event will showcase the successes of existing solutions and propose transparent and collaborative innovations. APELL, a partner of the European Village organised for the second year running, will play a key role in this demonstration.
An international track in collaboration with APELL
To reinforce the international aspect of the conference, a dedicated track in English will be set up in collaboration with APELL. This track will bring together conferences in English on different themes, with the aim of providing a showcase for European and international innovation in the world of open source. Peter Ganten, Chairman of the OSBA (Open Source Business Alliance) in Germany, member of the APELL Board of Directors and Managing Director of Univention GmbH, will be Vice-Chairman of the programme for this international track. His expertise and leadership will be essential in ensuring the success of this initiative.
The European Village: A showcase for European open source
In addition to the international track, OSXP 2025 will be hosting exhibitors in the European Village. This venue will showcase the best of European open source and attract visitors from all over Europe. The event is a unique opportunity to showcase French and European expertise in open source. Open Source Expérience is a major event for Open Source in Europe, and there are already a number of collaborations in place. Many visitors from all over Europe join us every year, enabling us to showcase French and European expertise on a global scale.
